The Flaming Mudcats are a new Auckland-based rootsy blues band. This four piece band swings, playing those great grooves along with burning harp and smoking guitar lines. Influenced by the likes of Little Walter, Johnny Guitar Watson, Magic Sam and Kim Wilson, the boys have compiled an exciting set list.Out of a rehearsal in 2009, a gathering of four players with a common drive to play this brand of blues, resulted in the formation of The Flaming Mudcats. |

In just a few short years, The Jukes have garnered a reputation as a first class band. Their repertoire is filled with vintage blues tunes and good blues never really go out of style. The Jukes play the music well, have a deep sense of tradition for what they do and play the kind of raw, vibrant blues that harks back to the golden era of Chicago in the 50's and 60's. Household names like Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Sonny Boy Williamson and Elmore James sit alongside some of the new names on the scene like Nick Moss, Jimmy Burns and Willie Kent in The Jukes’ set list. At every gig they deliver, as the band locks in to those classic grooves with some rock solid old school ensemble playing, and each time enhance their reputation as a live outfit. |
